Seongnam Cultural Foundation has made significant contributions to promoting Seongnam's status from a once culturally marginal community to an important site for the arts. Seongnam Cultural Foundation has pursued this goal through culture and arts programs to serve the people of the region, including the Seongnam Arts Center, Civic Center, and Book Theme Park and Outdoor Performance Area, as well as projects to boost its “resident happiness” index, including outreach programs like the ‘Sarangbang Culture Club’ and ‘Making each village a cultural community’.
Nevertheless, more needs to be done, and Seongnam Cultural Foundation will work harder to ensure that its cultural facilities will reach a broader range of people.

It is my personal dream to realize Seongnam as ‘A City where All Residents Enjoy Happiness.’
To achieve this goal, Seongnam Cultural Foundation will be transformed to harmonize its communities and to allow them to create and communicate freely by enabling every Seongnam citizen to take advantage of its facilities and programs with greater ease and convenience.
We will provide easier access to Seongnam Arts Center and exert our best efforts to develop creative citizen-friendly programs where all the citizens can take part in the programs of Seongnam Cultural Foundation and Seongnam Arts Center, not only as consumers of the arts, but also as creators or producers. Such efforts can help boost happiness for Seongnam citizens and further bolster our community as a cultural city that is rich in artistic resources.
The German poet Eduard Friedrich Mörike(1804~1875) once lauded the composer Franz Schubert(1797~1828) as ‘someone who could see the brilliant sunlight even through tears.’ Likewise, I can clearly see the hope and achievement that result after hard work.
At Seongnam Cultural Foundation, we will listen attentively to all voices, including minority opinions, and ensure that the Seongnam Cultural Foundation is open not only to Seongnam citizens and the regional community, but also to all of Korea and the world.
